The Sizing Struggle: How Inconsistent Fit Impacted Returns

In fashion, when selling products from multiple brands, sizing and measurements are often inconsistent. More often than not, customers are unsure about sizing and buy two sizes, or simply buy the wrong one, both behavior result in high return rates.

For Villoid, offering 2,000 SKUs, tracking return reasons and updating sizing recommendations was manual and overwhelming. Reviewing return data through yayloh, the team could identify sizing issues but it was taking time to improve update sizing recommendations to guide shoppers. It was also very hard to track the impact of such changes.

That non-standardized, manual process required individual attention and effort. It became it inefficient and hard to scale. Even with real-time sizing issues insights, acting quickly remained a challenge.

Customers provide return feedback, stored in yayloh’s system, which analyzes it to improve sizing recommendations—streamlining operations. After team approval, sizing suggestions update automatically on product pages, per brand preferences. Filtering criteria for flagging products—like return rate or volume—are customizable, defined by Villoid.

Nudge logs changes for transparency, tracks adjustment impacts on return rates, and optimizes product pages continuously.

The Business Impact of Nudge

Return rates dropped by addressing sizing issues pre-purchase, boosting customer satisfaction and saving time and resources.

Revenue was retained, customer service faced fewer inquiries, and the e-commerce team focused on strategic tasks, monitoring lower return rates in the Nudge dashboard—no manual data analysis needed.

The new workflow has saved us valuable time while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
